 Hi guys... Ive been playing lom for ages and i have had the black out bug from the beggining. I log in fine and start playing... 5 mins in the sound goes off... then a few seconds and the background dissappears. WTF Any 1 help me i would be gratefull and will give them 10k if you solve my problem. My name is smeaq and im a lvl 15 war.
Msg me if im on. but i dont play much cos the screen thing. Comp:-

I remember you first posting for help Sie....I thought you may have got the answer by now. There must be a connection with your setup and other people with same problem. Start a thread asking for anyone else with same problem to post there configuration and we may be able to nail the problem.~~Experience is gained the moment after you needed it most~~ |

the sound card is a good idea. no-one has checked that! i have a soundblaster pro.

i havent got the same bug but some times the scteen goes black but my character says and i just walk abound on a black screen or i get blockes of black and MIR backgrounddoes anybody have this bug lv 20 warrior ingame name - Silvermain Phoenix - The Fire of Death |

Lol phoenix thats the bug that we are having hehe. And predator mine played gr8 too but then something happened dunno what and this damn bug came.

ok a few things to try1) first if you think its the sound card you can disable it in the control panel by going to system and on the device manager you can either select your sound card and click it then select disable in hardware profile, i would sugest you just remove it, this will require you to reinstall the drivers next time you start the computer. 2) It also sounds to me lke it may be a graphics card issue, iv seen many games have problems like this which are related to the chipset that the graphics card uses so if you all say what graphics card youv got it may help, you can try turning down the hardware acceleration on the card in controll panel=>system=>performance=>graphics, this may help if it is the hardware acceleration which is causing the problem. 3) also im sure youv all done this but make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card, sound card and directX. 4) It has also been known that moving the sound card into a different PCI slot somtimes stops problems with it, dont ask why cause im not 100% sure. 5) you could also try changing the monitor to 256 colours before starting the game, this is unlightly to do anything if the background is there to start with and then disapears, but worth a try anyway. 6) Also if it is the sound card you could try turning down its hardware aceleration by going to controll panel=>multimedia=>and clicking the advanced properties button of the playback section on the audio tab.
ok thats all i can think of of the top of myhead, but itl give you somthing to try anyway, hope it helps :)

well what i would do if it was me is pull out the sound and graphics cards, delete there drivers and stick in an other graphics card, just to see if it made any difference, you have to try to narrow down where the problem is before it can be solved and i find this method can be quite afective.

lol, i didnt mean another card the same, its highley unlightley the graphics card is faultey, but it may just be a conflict of some kind with the chipset that the graphics card uses, if you have any other type of graphics card, dosnt mater what type you could try it and see if you get the same problem.

soz i meant to say the GPU not the chipset, i know that normally the geforce cards are named by the GPU e.g. the geforce2 ultra card uses the geforce2 ultra GPU, but i think that many companys actually make geforce cards and just use the same GPU but i dont know if all of the companies name the card by the GPU type. so more than one company would be making the card but the name may be slightley different from each of them.lol, im not sure if what iv just writen is totaly clear, just post the type of the card and the manufacturer if you know it. also if anyone else with this problem is reading this please post your graphics card and type, manufacturer as well, it may give us an idea of whats cuasing this problem.

both those graphics cards are made be nvidia so maybe there is a patch or something on it`s way from them. I get the same problem and my card is made by SIS so i think that this is not the problem, also my sound card is a sound blaster copy and i`ve be reading these forums since the beggining and the sound card is the only thing that appears on every topic so far. do you guy ever get a reply for the support team when you e-mail them, i have been e-mailing for weeks and i am yet to get a reply.hope you guys can sort this and if you do post it PLZ. it`s what`s on the inside and not on the outside that counts is only said by insecure ugly people. ye it may be the sound card, but iv seen this problem in games before and it dose tend to have somthing to do with the graphics card.have any of you tried updating the card bios yet?
