Am I the only one who notices that half the Mir players are lvl 26+ ? Due to this fact, I really think that Serps, Mage Staves, and G.Axes should be in stores! Is Mir waiting until half the players are lvl 30+ ? FFS then everyone will need SSW/J.maces/Blood stealers! One thing that still confuses me is why the following items are not in stores yet? I mean, between myself and 4 friends we have tonnes of these stuff in storage, but can't sell them for much because there are too many around... thus it should be sold in stores! -Shamen helms (we have 11... had 22, sold them for 8-15K each) -Convex lens (we have 8, had 25, sold them for 8-15K each) -Purifiers (we have 15, had tonnes... sold them for 20-40K each) -Skelly Helm (we have 7) -Coral Rings (we have 12) -Expel Rings (we have 14) I'm Sure many of you out there have tonnes of these stuff in storage as well... I think that what is for sale in the shops is not directly controlled by the GMs etc. but rather the players. If you sell all that stuff to the shops they eventually become permanent. There are specific numbers.. something like 25 of the item being in the shop for 24 hours. Ideally everyone with a mage staff/serpent sword/great axe should sell them to the stores, no one buys them, then a couple of days later there are plenty. But that's not going to happen.-- Naked. |

No offense Lilazn, but you're a noobie! It's hard for you to understand how it feels like to be lvl 30+ and still using a purifier! The amount of time it takes to go from Lvl 26 to Lvl 30 is about 2 times longer than going from lvl 1 to lvl 22.To give you an Idea of how it feels like to be lvl 30+ and still using a Puri... try using a Dagger with your lvl 22 Tao and fight woomas!... The amount of time taken from lvl 26-30 is about 10 times longer than from 1-22, I can lvl a char from lvl 1 to 22 in 4 days and I have done this before and so did many people in Phoenix, I think after 4 days there was 3-4 people already lvl 22. And yes this game does need more high lvl items in the shops or make them easier to get from monsters. I left MIR @ lvl 32 because there is no point in going on, I was still not as bad as some of you, I had G.Axe, loads of Dragons and Corals, Recall items, Spirit items, mystery set, had 9 benediction points at one time and over 6 million gold and flaming sword, half moon, etc... But whats the point of having all this when I should be wearing power rings, green bead, J.Mace and Iron Helm? Still look like a lvl 26 if you ask me even though I was lvl 32. The problem with the game is that it does not reward you for leveling up, like most people on Dragon, they get to lvl 30 and have no Great Axe, no half moon, no shoulder dash, no dragon rings, etc... The game is meant to be fun, some people go and kill WT and ZT to get this items but the chances are like 1 in a 1000 to get what you need and there is no fun in wasting 2+ hrs of your time, 50k+ of your money for not getting a reward at the end. For example I decided not to bother killing ZT anymore because I never seen it dropping something I need or rare on phoenix, one day I took loads of people from different guilds and made 2 full groups (over 20+) and we killed ZT and what was the best drop? a gold ring, just marvelous.

I killed ET 3 times yesterday, and the best items that I got from them were 1 coral and 1 expel. Why bother hunting bosses when the chances of a good drop is like 1 in a 100?"I'll buy THAT for a dollar" |

I don't think all lvl 26 or under items should go into shops (though some should like convex lenses, as bamboo pipes and bluejade necklaces are) but I do think drop rates should be increased and some more items should be dropped by non-bosses. I.E. as all boar drop coral rings, they should also drop ruby and platinum rings (they may do but I've never heard of it) as these are equivalents. You spell Wizard with 1 z ! |

Agreed... there is definately an imbalance of class equivelent items. For example, shouldn't the following have the same drop rate?Coral - Ruby Ring - Platinum Ring All are 0-4 in respect to their class, but why are corals 70K, rubies 1.2 Million and Platinum 500K? Why are there 5 times more G.Axes than Serps or Mage Staves? "I'll buy THAT for a dollar" |

hmmm too much to read but i'll just tell you what i think...i could probably have been lvl 35 and same with my other mates and the people i know but we spent TONS of time looking for the rare items, also were campers so the fact is we deserve the items we got but if you think by lvling up to lvl 32+ , dont expect to get rare items just like that w/o trying hard. Go camp SG or something.Ive seen lots of people saying...man i lvled to lvl 31 and i still havent got a mace..wtf he/she probably never spent any time looking for them or helped guild kill bosses. hmm dont know if that make sense =)

Killing Super Zuma Guardian or ZumaTaurus doesn't gaurantee a drop with a rare item. All I'm saying is that Mir should increase the drop rate for these lvl 26 weapons. And Yes AznS3xyboi, I have spent many hours hunting Whiteboar/ET/SZG.I'd have to say that there is only about a 5% chance in getting a drop which includes a lvl 26 weapon. What annoys me is the people that have managed to get rare items saying: "They should not be in the shops! we paid loads for those items and spent a lot of time finding them and if everyone had them then everyone would look the same"Well, thats what you get for getting very high lvl very quick, you all remember when eshock was like 500k and a Trident was like 50k. My point is that leveling up is hard enough, there is Nickphil on Phoenix server, probably lvl 37-39 by now and still wearing a Great Axe. This game does not reward you for leveling up, you level up and then you spend more time finding the items you need for your level than the amount of time it would take to lvl up again. ~Tango~ ~Level 32~ ~The5thElement~~Lets dance baby~

Right okay, listen carefully. The only items which GM's have put in shops are the lvl7 and below items. All the other items have been put in by the players. Say for example the shamen helmet went down to about 5k ppl wouldnt bother and would just sell it in shops, if enough ppl sold em in shops and they stayed in the shop for 2 days they will be added permenantly into the shop. This is what happened with death guantlets, if u remember the price dropped to about 15k so ppl thought sod this, i'll sell em in shops, so now theyre available in shops. This will probably happen with purifier swords soon. If u want lvl26 items in shops u'll have to get about 20 of each, sell em in the same shop then, noone must buy them for 2 days, if u do this(almost impossible)they will become available in shops permanently. These are the words of Tricky, it is true, Its not up to GM's to add items in shops, it's up to the players. This one has purple inside, purple is a fruit!----Homer J. I disagree... if u take off the reason of find good items, what will rest in mir? leveling leveling and leveling again. I'm lv 30 and really i want a ssw, and i'm saving alot of items to trade one. When i'll get it, i'll be happy... but if i can buy it in shop, what excitem there is? nothing. u reach lv 26, u go in shop, buy it, and u'll be like all the other players of mir. Instead if u play for find or buy it, u'll be more happy compared to have bought it in shop...(Sorry for my worse english). Quart, Tao 30. Enkel, Wiz 23.I only dream in Black and White. Well if you find that exciting stick with MIR! When you get to lvl 35+ and you still havent got your sword then dont complain. This game is too limited, I mean, you get a new weapon for every 5 lvls in average same goes for magic skills. Wizards in DAoC get at least one new spell for every level and they are given to you when you go and see your trainer. Between lvl 1 and lvl 10 warriors have over 30+ weapons to choose from, instead of 5 or something you have in MIR. This game will die and a few people will try to keep it alive for as long as they can but sooner or later there wont be too many people supporting it. 200+ people left now because of DAoC, more will leave when Shadow-whatever comes out, more will leave when WOW comes out and more will leave when the Codemasters game comes out, not to mention other several games currently in planning. By the end of 2002 only a couple of hundred people will remain in this game and these are the same kind of people who buy McDonals when they travel to a foreing country because they are not willing to give a chance to something new and would rather stick to the same routine. And if you like MIR and nothing would change your mind, I understand, I have met a few people who would rather have a MINI than a BMW or a Porshe, so I guess you people are the same in that way, nothing wrong with it though. ~Tango~ ~Level 32~ ~The5thElement~~Lets dance baby~

this is EXACTLY wot im trying to say to people tango, mir has NO depth, and most people have no experience with other rpg games to realise that! now im not a fan of rpgs, only mmorpgs and this is the first ive played as i was restricted to a very crap computer before hand, but a mmorpg is just an rpg where almost every other character is an actual player, and thats wot attracts me to them, the fact that u rnt just asking npc's stuff, but u can talk to real people and get more involved as a group of people! about the weapons tho, i dont think shops should have them, but they sure as hell need to be less rare, too me 20+ visits to SZG to get my mage staff, the only good thing is that i felt great when i got it, a real sense of achievement, which is exactly y i didnt give it away when i quit, i didnt want to give people an easy way out of working for there items, if u kill a boss and see the item u want drop u feel great and that after all ur work uve finally got wot u wanted, if u simply get given it by someone leaving u just think "nice, got a staff for free"! i mean i had ****ing guild members who werent even wizards asking for my staff, kinda shows how money hungry some people can be, altho genuine mates maybe wanted it so they have one, or for a second char (i know one person who asked (ripper3212) has a wiz)! anyway, i still think your should have to work for ur items, but i think at the moment the drop rate is totally wrong for the ammount of lvl 26+ players in mir--------- TLB Level 26 Mage (retired, and dont ask for my friggin staff!) Quark,I will agree with you that it's more exciting to find your weapon rather than buy it in stores, however a lvl 26 tao cannot solo White boar, Evil Tong, nor Super Zuma Guardian. So how is he supposed to get a Serp by himself? If that's not bad enough, the chanced of a serp dropping buy anyone of these bosses is under 5%! As for someone's theory of "just sell a bunch of them to stores and they'll become a common item"... that's and interesting theory, but you have to realize it's just a theory! One the GMs can tell us if that is true or not. "I'll buy THAT for a dollar" Edited by - huntyoudown on 12/26/2001 21:05:06 |

i think drop rates should be increased in high lvl areas like Wooma/zuma temple, bug cave, stone temple it is annoying to go into any kings room 3-4 times a day and get stuff all. it costs me like 50k to go a hunt with pots and everything i dont think they should have them in shops not yet anyway but they should increase the drops i have had rare items off of normal mobs but nothin major so they should either increase drop rates in the high lvl areas or introduce more bosses into the game or sub bosses like evil tong wooma/zuma guardianGIVE ME A DRAGON RING PLZZZZZZZZZ!!!!! lvl25 warrior and proud of it :P |
