Can someone please explain to me how e-shock actually works. I've heard all sorts of different methods people use for taming. Is there even a method? Also what creatures can you tame at what lvls? |

Eshock taming is random no matter what lvl you are.Sometimes it takes me one shot to tame sometimes 4 lrg pots. You can tame 2 lvls above you. (doesnt help i know) but this is what you can tame: lvl 24 centipedes lvl 26 black maggots lvl 29 tongs lvl 30 wedge moths There is no method, i've also heard if you hit it while taming it helps but i have found this not to be true. Hope this helps

E Shock AKA mp drainerAs far as I can see, it goes something like this. You can tame mobs that are below your lvl and Eshock everytime it hits a mob will do 1 of the following 1) NOTHING 2) TURN RED (BERSEK?) 3) TURN ORANGE (STUN) 4) BECOME YOUR PET number 1 happens a few times when you are low level and taming things like oma and hens ect number 2 happens more when you get eshock to lvl 1 or 2, I belive that if you can turn a mob RED, you should be able to tame it as well. This turning pets red is good if you have a bunch of mobs together as the red one will attaack the nearest thing to it, and the mob its attacking doesnt do anything * HELLO -- BUG-- ** number 3 happens when you try to tame something that is about 1 to 3 lvls above you, or so i have found i.e. I could stun Tongs from lvl 25+ but only tame the little bugger at lvl29 number 4 is a myth, only kidding. Number 4 happens when you eshock a pet and something happens, here is a list i have made using % modeESHOCK hits pet Nothing 1% to 50% RED 51% to 70% ORANGE 71% to 90% YOURS 91% to 100% Everytime you use Eshock and it connects to a pet, a random number is made. Add 18% to each random number for each lvl of Eshock learnt, and consult the above chart, thats what happens. Hence why sometimes you can ame a Mag in one attempt, other times i have used 4 LARGE MP POTS and still not got the bloody thing. The level of Eshock is also used as an indicator of the length of time they will be your pets, some thing like 1 hour plus 20mins per level of Eshock learnt again. Complicated isnt it! So now you know, i have never know Tbolts of fireballing a pet make eshock work faster, infact i have tried all types of tricks, moving around it, running, taming close up, taming far away, tbolting it, getting it to attack someone for me, and many more, it doenst seem to make any change to Eshock. The only thing i have noticed is if its an undead thing you try to tame and you get it as a pet, it kills it, killing a zombie in on Eshock sure does impress warriors Also if a pet is stunned (ORANGE) and someone wlaks past it, it will turn red and attack them. Again, this is just my opion, what do i know im only a lvl 29 Wiz. One other thing, retaming someone elses pets is harder, trust me on that one or ask Hiiro about it, SORRY MATE! OK I hope this helps or a GM or Mods replies to it to say if im right or wrong. Good luck and keep taming. TA! Blessed are the losers. For they determin the Winners!! |

Sorry, dont know how to edit my own replies yet.I am not sure if MC has any part to play in taming, if it does then its probly adding 1% to your random number for each MC you have, maybe the first number only as i have MC 7 - 22 and im no better at taming mag as when i had MC 7-17 :-(((((( Well maybe alittle quicker but not much! Hiya,I found the list below from this taming topic before which should help ppl know what they can tame. The only thing I know is you can only tame a mob which is 2 levels higher than yourself. I have never found MC to make any difference on taming, Ican take items off to reduce my MC and taming time does not seem to change any. I have found that if the MOB is actually attacking me it does seem to tame quicker. Anyway here is the list:- Cave Bat – 13 Hen –13 Oma –13 Yeti – 13 Deer – 13 Sheep – 13 Yob – 13 Hooking/Raking Cat – 13 Cannibal Plants – 13 Shell Snipper – 13 Sky Stinger – 13 Wolf – 14 Scorpion – 14 Spitting Spider – 14 Visceral Worm – 15 Red Snake – 15 Karatoid – 16 Tiger Snake – 16 Cave Maggot – 17 Oma Fighters – 20 Centipedes – 24 Darks – 24 Dung – 24 Bugbat Maggot – 26 Black Maggots – 26 Giant Karatoid – 27 Oma Warriors – 27 Tongs – 29 Wedgemoths – 30 EVIL TONGS – rumoured to be lvl 40 [Zephire - Level 29 Wiz] (Guild - Kindred Spirits Elders)
[Zendar - Level 21 Taoist] (Guild - Kindred Spirits Elders) |

Dianne, here are some details to fill this in. Firstly I'll state that this is correct about the level you are deciding what creatures you can tame. There is a more complete list somewhere. What level you are appears to make little difference to how likely you are to tame things. This depends on both your MC and your level with E-Shock. The difference between 7-17 and 7-22 is that the maximum MC that can be effected is 5 higher, but the lowest you can get is the same. Therefore the average effective MC varies here from 12 to 14.5 ... not a huge increase, and therefore not much visible difference. My experience with E-Shock at low level is that it is interesting to play the farmer and tame Hens and Deers to get its level up, then forget it till you can get: a) Higher level so you can tame things WORTH taming b) Plenty of money, as you WILL burn pots levelling this up c) High MC ... you're a wizard FFS ... always higher MC When you get up to a level where you can tame Oma Warriors and such like, then you can actually get a mob that will help you rather than die. The main thing that makes previously tamed mobs harder to tame is that mobs you have tamed can be levelled. How much they can level depends on what level of E-Shock you have and you have to be aware that if you have (for example) tamed a level 26 mob at level 24 and it levels, it is no longer low enough for you to control and you will lose control of it. Beware. FYI, from what I've read mobs level on the count of number of kills rather than experience points, so I'd suspect killing Hens, Deer, Cats, Scarecrows, etc is the easy way to level them up. If you don't know what level a mob is, but you can tame it ... then you can work out what level it is if it untames by knowing how many levels it had gained, and your level. Post any such information on the forums for us all to share. Hope this helps. "And then the stars fell, and the heavens were left shrouded in darkness" |
