can't agree more with the ponxmeister. Axen is a very good GM in my opinion and that is not only from my experience but from what others are saying about him.

As it has been mentioned, messaging them ingame is a very bad idea. Its very hard for them to respond to so many PMs at the same time. If you have any problems, then post it here on the forums and someone will try to help you out.

i enjoy my job as a gm but i am thinking of
quitting b/c of ppl like u complaining all the time

I don't really care that much if the GM's are online in the game or not. But at least they should answer more questions in here. Basically the only time they care to respond is when they're getting hammered on. This is a great example of that.---

Ok if Gms took the time to answer every question that appears then the next patch(october 10th 2001)would come out months later.Think about it.Its not easy beign a Gm everytime i see one there 50+ ppl around them asking the same question"the lag sucks,i want my items back"It pisses me off and pisses everyone else off.

Why does 50% of the players think the MIR world evolves around them. Your not alone and we try our best to answer every question, even the most stupid ones. I've been online a lot since I started and I'll continue to do that and answer as much questions as I can. But if you feel the urgent need to whisper me, think of all the players who think the same like you. I'll give an example. Ask 10 of your Tao friends to cast SoulShield on you all at once and keep em casting it as fast as they can. Look at your chatscreen.That comes close to the speed of the whispers I get. I admire Malerin when she sends a system message around the Mir world that she's online. The messages you get when you do that go with the same speed as 25 people casting SoulShield on you. ok can you make a fix too this have a que slot give whoever msg's a gm a number goes in order and they cant type back till a gm answers them that way no spamming just a reply such and such msging you do u wanna take this msg? gms could answer each one then also it would pop up in another little box all the people who are msging so her chat screen is now spammed and then she could answer each oneJoseph Donnelly of the family donnelly!!!!! |

Leave the GM's alone, most of the problems you have which are lag related/account related/etc cant be fixed by normal GM's! and even if you do have a seriuous issue and you tell a GM dont expect a reply as they are getting just too many private messages, I dont know how the GM system works in this game but when I was a GM all I could really do was help newbies with any key funtions they had and ban cheaters.If I could suggest something to the GM's is that they do need more GM in the game to help other people, I do know your main worries are finding people who wont abuse their powers, e.g spawning ZT in newbie vil, however you can modify the game to have 3 different lvls of GM's First lvl or SYSOPS will be people to access to everything, they can see account infos, spawn monster/items, reboot server and so on. Second lvl or SMODS Super-Moderators can ban people, direct serius issues to SYSOPS, have access to spawn a few things like Mid-BOsses and normal mobs but do not have access to account infos and more serious stuff Third Level or MOD Moderator can only ban people and this will be for a maximun of 10 Mins to 1 Hr so in case they do abuse their power and ban someone that killed them people wont get their accounts banned forever, they cant spawn mobs, they cant see account info.
This is a very helpful system as basically you can have more GM's at lvl 3 and not worry much about them abusing their powers and getting loads of complains from people. Once these moderators have earn the trust from the Sysops they might be pormoted to lvl 2.
So if someone in lvl 2 or 1 decides to leave the game u will have people to choose from lvl 3 or lvl 2 who are already familiar with the system and you got to know a lot better and you know they will do a great job! Also this means all lvl 3 Mods wont get annoying people saying: "spawn a WT" "Spawn ZT!" as a simple "I cant" will be enough to answer and these GM's can concentrate more on problems like cheaters, pkers, people blocking entrances for shops or ZT/WT and helping newbies. I dunno if the GM's get paid or not but I am sure you will find loads of people willing to help and I am sure GM's already know a few players who would be great GM's. And in my opinion you DO need a lot more GM's, for example in the last game I was in there was a maximun of 200-300 people in the game at the same time and we would have around 5-15 GM's on at those times.

*sigh* well the way I see it gm's wouldn't be inudated with messages if they replied in the forums more often. multiple questions regarding lag? well since I haven't seen any posts from internal staff yet I am tempted to ask a gm what the problem is exactly and what the company is doing to address it. Lost items due to lag well that is easily answered in the manual, no items returned. It is starting to get better but I find it to be a bit disorganized. The addition of Tricky was a good thing although I question how "in the loop" he is and his ability to answer questions with a definate response. Styn Good luck to you |

I'm not quite in agreement there as the forum is a place to express your opinions and discuss the world of mir. The person who started this topic (epic) has got a point and has no fear of expressing it. I think that the GM's are doing a gr8 job and that they should have certain GM's that play the game and watch for cheaters and stuff, then the GM's that spawn the mobs and stuff, then the GM's that watch over the servers etc.Hey, that's my opinion!
