Thoric Junior Member USA 125 Posts	Posted - 12/20/2001 : 23:58:13 Well here is my choice of wich people should qualify to be a gm the must come under certain guidlines though ,as power can lead to coruption as we all know coughmalerincoughAxen*cough yeah now ive took some cough surup heres the criteria which they should come under 1.REPUTATION:They need to be a trusted member of the comunity so nobody who has pked. 2.HELPFULNESS:How helpful they actual are. 3.Activity:How much time they spend on the game or forum 4.Experienced player: preferably sombody whos stuck around since beta test. I vote for no1 as 99% of players cant handle the responsibility/pressure of being a GM. IF a player does become a GM hopefully they will ber under a new name, and a new forum account, as those that do will be considered as 'PET' GM's to the former guild i.e Axen, i know he is a damn fine GM and take alot of punishment, most of which could not be taken by all the people of MIR. Axen, i know u read the forum occasionally, personally i was against u but now i've realised that u r not to blame I am Bored.

Malerin, was a trusted player & respected and look what happened there. 2. the most relevant criteria - goes without saying really 3. how many of the current GM's are on the forum / game on a regular basis. this needs to be resolved, so we are probably looking at more than 5 new GM's 4. not totally accurate.. Do you have to be on at certain times each day? Do you have to speak a foreign language? How long do you have to have played the game before qualifying? Do you have to have played all three charactors? Do you have to have visited all areas of the game? I'm sure you can all think of your own criteria. I have already e-mailed Hober asking for something to be added to the FAQ section explaining how GM's are picked.
Morghenna Junior Member USA 118 Posts	Posted - 12/21/2001 : 15:53:45 A very long time ago. Then GM Starlight heard me shout in Ginko for starting people taht wanted help. I think I was lev 17 then. He msged me asking why I was shouting to help people. It was about that time when people were starting to pk noobs. I replied saying that I help many people and who the hell was he to ask. His return was asking me if I ever read the Notice Board as his name was under the GM list. Embarassed I told him I had just assumed he was a game designer and never really played except to test game mechanics. He met me and we talked for a bit. He was from Washington State, USA, Myself a native NYer. He was curious about how I helped people and so created a level 0 player for me to lead around and show him what was what. It was awkward trying to treat him like a noob since he knew much more about the game than I do/did. Eventually he asked if I would like to become him as he could not devote enought time to the game that he thought needed. I agreed So he said he would put my name in. Of course a few days later he told me that all the GM's had been picked and that somone had been chosen for his slot. Not to be discouraged I have continually helped people that embaressingly enough have surpassed myself in levels, became guild leaders and outstanding members in their guilds and the comunity. I wrote directly to Mir giving them the reasons I thought I could be a valuable member of Mir as a GM since I am an engineer and a natural teacher. I have never had a reply and thorugh the months of careful study I conclude that the following conditions need to happen for anyone to become a Moderator/GM. 1. Start PKing everyone. Get your name known. 2. Flame every thread in every post to get your counts up. It doesnt matter if you even use bump, just make sure your count is high. 3. No matter what, disagree with everyone, write flaming posts. Curse out the GM's and behave like a spoiled brat. 4. You must absolutley not have a life since you couldn't possible rack up the counts of your posts in you had one. 5. I does not matter how many people you help. Just help those people that make the most noise. 6. Swear constantly #$!$%$#%@ about everything and everyone. Forget anything you learned in school and the rule of adjectives. 4 letter explecatives are all the verbs you need. 7. NEVER give information on a taboo topic! God forbid I have said things concernign the great (speed cheat). Instantly upon acknowleging it. You might have well pked every player for nine months. Robbed orphans and spit on the green white and red. Your a crminal now. 8. Stop posting things that help or may be of interest. Don't offer tips on lag reduction. Where to level, how to do things those are not important. 9. Keep your posts going by making rediculous comments to every thread. 10. Start running for office you are well on your way to stardom. Curently trying out Dark Age of Camelot since my account will expire on the 17th of January and there has been no concrete updates that I was paying for. AS of 99% of the players are level 27+ and only a finite number of items to go around I refuse to think at say level 35 the highest level mob I can still tame is a moth. And that it will be a cold day in hell that I could get a simple mage staff without paying 3.5 million for a level 26 item. And dont compare that the Koreans ahve 20k,15k,7k items in their shops inventories. I downloaded their client and have three characters on them. Seven servers. Real noobs and tons of people! I have never PK'd anyone and I would probably be able to help more than most being a skilled computer professional myself ... Hell I could probably help them debug the updates in half the time, and I could definitely help them improve the web site (and the regularity of updates).
