Is it possible to connect 2 win98 comps with network cards so 2 different MIR accounts can be logged on via the same modem? Will the lag be twice as bad? If it's possible and practical how is it setup? Thanks for any advice. |

Just download and install Wingate, newest version. Folow instructions and instalation should be fine. Make shure 2 comps are connected over LAN properly. Install Wingate on faster one with more memory.Well, i dont know about lag....u should try. Have fun , i hope it works for you Fear is the only thing keeping you aware of your reality. Yer like Tanty says, ICS on Win 98 SE is easy 2 use.U add it onto the pc with the modem on it, it can be found by going to: Control Panel, Add/Remove Progs, Windows Setup, Communications. Tick the box and u is away
It does work on 2 accounts at once, but yes the lag will be worse, prolly not twice as bad though.

Nope, but u must configure it to use only 1 modem as u can connect with one one. quote: I will get the network cards this weekend but is there a special cable i can get that will go from 1 comp to other without having to use a hub?

The Cable is a Cat5e cross over cable.Belkin is one of the best make. I got two 10/100 MB network card. Dont go for wireless cards, as they can transmit up to 300 feet, and anyone why a wireless card can hack into your network. As for lag, there is no more lag when we play solo, as when we play together. ZT Kr very little lag. We have a 56K modem. I have walked in darkness and realise I had no candle
