Ok, I wasn't going to comment and I haven't been on these forums for a while but when I was told of this in #mir (CA.GamesNET.net) I felt I should try to make MIR Staff realise the effects of what appears to be a very rash decision on their part1stly I have a few questions:
1) Why are you penalising the community for what is essentially a **** up on your part?
2) Did what happened with Toobad, Benin, Guinty and I teach you nothing or am I the only one who learnt that GM logs should be monitored for discrepancy?
3) Did it never occur to you that the GM client should be different to ensure that this could not happen
4) Is this not the lazy way out? Ie You rewind the server instead of locating the items and deleting them, thus penalizing every player instead of doing the work?
5) I have just spoken to a player who though he might like to try a 2nd character last weekend on Sunday he started a new warrior and leveled it to level 15 so he now starts again (SERIOUS QUESTION: Where any new account started on or since this date, I mean new paying customers who you are going to delete?)
As usual I expect the standard flames I always get but I ask MIR staff to think about this, I sit in an irc channel and so far I have seen everyone one of the people I know who play MIR totally and utterly pissed off.
The comment Hober made “It's sad that we always have to look after this kind of people, instead of working hard for Mir's improvement” is a very poor one if you give people the chance to abuse the system they will, it is your job to be one step in front so that any problems can be sorted quickly.
I also think that you need someone on staff who is in touch with average the player, who can see what response this action will take before you announce it to world and piss everyone off.
The biggest problem MIR has is inexperienced and naive staff who don’t seem to learn from their mistakes!!
