Yes, you read it right! I personally want to buy the game (for let's say 1000 euro?), the accounts, the software, the GM's, the staff and the supervision. I want to make it better again!! First step of the reorganisation: KICK OUT MODERATORS. Second step of the reorganisation: HIRE NEW MODERATORS Third step of the reorganisation: TEACH THE MODERATORS WHAT FUN IS Fourth and last step of the reorganisation: BRING A PATCH IN TIME WHICH IS VALUABLE FOR WHAT THE COSTUMARS PAY FOR.Basically i want to say this: GET YOUR'E FFS PATCH IN TIME AND LET IT TEST BY THE PLAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Second thing i want to get rid off: LISTEN TO YOUR'E COSTUMARS! So if they ask more mobs and better drops, give them to them It is a game you know?! Actually it should not be a game that irritates you (like it does now - you all know what i'm talking about - ) but it should make touch all your'e possible senses for as far as you can go with a computer. We didn't ask for a "huge patch that is to big for just a patch, so we have to make it a whole new chapter" blah blah blah. I hope some GM / moderator or whatever a (by us) payed LoM staff guy takes this forum a bit serious and actually ASKS some things about what ppl want. Gives me another idea for a new forum Thank u all for your'e time I love to level up! Damn bad it takes so long!! Eville - Apex member lvl 30 warrior |

errr....The game is owned by WEMADE and they are doing well in Korea, which means you wont be able to buy the game for just 1000 Euros. Only thing you can try to do is get Digital Bros to leave the game and terminate whatever contract they have with WEMADE. Then you need GM's, who can you trust enough in this game to make sure they wont give items away? Then you need technical people, game was written in Delphi so you need a few programmers. You also need decent servers to host it. You need to train the GM's and make rules. And I dont think WEMADE will give you the rights for the game no matter what... Magicdude ... I would be interested to know the moneys involved being a programmer myself, and knowing many programmers ... and technical people and hosting is not a problem. What makes you think it is written in delphi BTW? I haven't investigated it so you could be right ... but that would be rather unusual and possibly help explain the problems they get with it. If it was written in C++ using resources properly then all they'd have to do when a new patch came out is update the resource files ... it could even be done cleverly to have both resource files contained and be able to update either the Korean or European versions. A bit of project planning and decent software design would make this all so much smoother and leave a lot less egg on the faces of the staff."And then the stars fell, and the heavens were left shrouded in darkness" |

Well, the icon on the patch.exe is a delphi icon, my m8 who programms in Delphi asked Malerin to ask someone else and they confirmed the game was written in Delphi, 5.0 if I remember correctly. Is this the main reason why each patch is so huge on this game when in other games like Dark Age of Camelot the patches are just under 10MB and you see a lot more changes? You can also open Mir.exe in hex/text editor and find some Delphi function calls../LippoW Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Transaction (Process ID 144) was deadlocked on {lock} resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. I won't get drawn in to a programming language advocacy debate, the point was which language it is written in ... and that seems fairly decisive. It sounds like this may be a factor in why the patches are huge, but using a DECENT file comparison tool they should be able to cut down the patch size compared to the last one. Weekly updates will greatly reduce the patch size. If they decided to add sections of the update that are known to be functioning properly, one at a time, sounds as they are completed, etc. then they would achieve the continuous updates that they pledge in the FAQ and would not neccessitate huge downloads cloggin up the server. This would also mean that they do not have to delay a patch because not everything is complete, but rather release each patch with a note saying that XXX & YYY are expected to be ready in X days/weeks so we are always looking forward to the next step."And then the stars fell, and the heavens were left shrouded in darkness" |
