I know if thieves and not thiefs but cant put it all there Lets see. You go for a solo hunt or with a group of friends, sometimes you have a superdrop mob and when you kill it always someone stranger running to best drop, grab it and DE's. Same think happens when you after OW/EB/WT/ET/WB or other "bosses". I have a suggestion to stop those damn thieves. * After kill all drops (cash too) should be "cursed" for 10 mins or so. * Only the "legal" owner of "kill" can take drops. And "legal" owner is the one who got the exp from killing mob or his group. * "Cursed" drops are colored (have red/green/blue letters instead of white, name a color) and if someone grabs a "cursed" drop he/she "stoned" like cavemaggot's poison does. When a thief is in that condition (about 10 mins) he cant move or use any items/spells (so he cant DE, Teleport, use HPs etc). Also if he/she die (and he/she will for sure) he/she drops ALL his/her items even those which he/she wearing (maybe his/her cash too) That kill was legal and u dont take anythink like legal defense does. * The "legal" owner can drop the "curse" of items and let others to take em without need to wait 10 mins to end "curse". I want to see that coming up really soon and Stop all those damn thieves. Anyone who will not support this Topic, I think he wants to have sometime a "super grab" and stay free as others in past days. P.S I had that in mind long time ago but i wrote this one now, cause someone have stolen WT horn from a friend. Who ever wants that name whisper me in game. P.S.2 I think this one is the solution and you dont need screenshots and "steal" MIR's staff time trying to find who got that drop from you or your group. I'm too old for this |

Ali, you have a point, and your solution seems quite good. Only problem I have is with the curse stuff, forget about that. Only the "legal" owner (the one or the group that got the exp) should be able to pick it up, for a limited amount of time (say 2 to 5 minutes). Anything dropped after picking it up is free for all, as are the items after the determined time. The colors would make it clear what items are free for picking up.Your curse stuff is way too harsh and easily solved as described above. TheSyndicate

I know this doesn't solve it but anyway here it goes. How about if the the person who gets the xp can pick up items from a distance so he has an advantage over the thieves?"OOOOOOH! They have the internet on computers now" - Homer.J.Simpson |

HiNice idea. I get my drops nicked when i'm busy with a group of mobs and one drops and you cant get to it as you as still busy. The problem with the idea you have is when working as a team or helping someone out, it is hard to know who's drop is whos! Scenario: a low level warrior has got 10 bone warriors around them, totally out matched. They need help, you and maybe some other passers by help. Which mob did you hit? did it drop? if so which drop? Just a thought for the big ones, is that whoever gets the exp and someone steals the drop, they can enter the persons name: they are immediately brought to where they left (if they de'd) and lose everything in their bag. Maybe have a tag attached meaning drop thief! Maybe this will encourage players to wait until the person has finished enough to allow them to take thier pick. I once told a player they can have ALL the blue potions but leaver the rest, while i was sorting the other mobs out, they took the full drop. Bobsyouruncle of TheBrotherhood |

The best way to avoid drop theft is to go on a hunt in a group and also have high wiz with you with some tamed mobs, after boss goes down you start killing any ppls who are coming too near the drops, and NO MERCY GIVEN. Say, they have des for sure... so if they don't they die. And also kill any ppl selling rare items in any area if they're not level high enough to get it by killing a mob that drops it, AND NO MERCY, BRUTAL MURDER INSTEAD./Lippo .......................................... maybe make it so only those who took part in the death of the monster could pick up, anyone else would be pushed from the drop site as if a high level wiz was repelling them.if anyone wants any of the drops they have to ask the legal owner to give them in a trade box could not bother designing a signiture - brain has taken a 2 week holiday |

Hi , I've had a few drop robbers and i agree with what you're saying i have a idea why dont everyone who has been drop robbed or have bin robbed with a item then write down their name and post it on here everyone one will know what they are and the game masters might even do something about it! UNTIL THEN DROP ROBBERS ASK BEFORE TAKING U MIGHT GET LUCKY!!!!!

My only hestitation to this otherwise brilliant idea is that some of us live off drops.I say this as in my ealier days in caves I lived off the mana potions ignored by the rampaging warriors that charged through after that next 3%. This also counts for basic items that a high lvl wouldnt look twice at but a low lvl will collect and sell I dont think there is an easy answer. Ten minute wait would certainly happen much of the life blood of mir for low lvls. Perhaps a radius idea. Move out of the radius and the item becomes free. scytale

What they should do, like in another game I played. Was whoever got the xp the drop was visible for them, but to everyone else it was invisible for one minute. Then anything they left and didn't want it appeared and whoever else could take it. This solved the problem of drop stealing there, and it will do the same here. But as far as that cursed item thing, wut if you don't want a mp pot that was dropped cuz ur a warrior and they want it, then they 1:have to wait for you to pick it up and trade it to them. 2:wait 5-10 mintues til it is uncursed. 3:take it and wait 5-10 minutes stuck there and die. Just make it where there is a 1 minute invisibility of items for all people who didn't get xp. This works very good and will solve everything. And if someone is killed by mobs, their stuff falls normal like it does now. |

why not open a window upon the mobs death, wich shows the items dropped. The person who killed it then selects which items they would like added to inventory, while the rest are dropped to the floorBoggy Dark Kight

It can be done this way: If you stay close to the drop it's yours untill you're a bit further away, then you can also kill any spawns in peace without having to worry about a timelimit. That way you don't have to wait 5 minutes to pick up something someone left on the ground.Should only apply to boss mobs maybe... as people don't steal normal mob drops that often. --- Ever danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight? The use of my idea is not only one: "save my drops from thiefs".But must have and a 2nd use: punish hard all those dam thieves that they follow you or just wait for you to kill a mid lvl boss and grab your best drop(s). I'm too old for this |

I like stealing the boss drops because think about it.....there's always 3-5 warrs getting the boss and when you try to help they say "GO AWAY" what the hell its not THEIRS....if anyone wants to kill any mob who cares if someone is doing that....atleast help will do!

Nice speach But when someone "working" on a Boss and dont want help, you dont help him. Also if someone "working" on a Boss that Boss BELONGS to him for any reason you want (luckier on find Boss, first to find it, respect the "work" have done already, first attack it etc) That also goes when someone is surrounded by mobs and dont want help. Most warriors "Think" (how "smart" a matso man can think? ) is good to "help" him and steal his/her kills in the name of "help". If you wanna help him/her hit what he/she hits to kill it faster BUT u ll not take the exp or drops. We are surrounded by thiefs and they shout when someone steal em, but they are always ready to steal and be proud for that I'm wondering if MIR Staff have any plans for this major problem I would like have couple words from em about that. Morlock, have you been playing Runescape? I played that, and recognize the drop system. It's indeed nice, but how would that work in a situation where u are surrounded by say bugs, and need some time to clear them up?There have been several posts about this topic, several solutions proposed to this particular problem. The more I read, the more I come to the conclusion that all the solutions combined can make it work. A system where you get a pseudo backpack with the drops of the mobs you killed (the ones you got exp for) would be the basis. Let's call this the drop-bag to give it a recognizable name. There have to be some rules on the drop-bag, as it is not meant to be an extension of your normal backpack. I'll start off the rules with a couple of ideas:
- All drops from kills you get exp for go into the drop-bag
- The drops will stay in the drop-bag for a set amount of time, after which they will drop AT THE PLACE YOU GOT THEM. This is to prohibit someone getting a good drop at 5f of Zuma, and take the stuff up to another floor for a friend.
- You can open the drop-bag manually to select items you wish to keep. After opening the drop bag (and even after closing it) all items in the drop bag will count towards your carrying weight, to prohibit walking around too much with it
- After taking out all wanted items you can choose to drop all left-over items
- When in a dungeon, if you leave the dungeon any item in your drop bag will drop at the point you got them.
- When not in a dungeon, but outside town, all items in your drop bag will return to the point where you got them when entering town.
- When using teleport spell/scroll (DE, TT as well) all items return to the point where you got them.
As this should be a solution for drop-thieving I tried to cover all use of the drop bag not related to this topic. I guess there will be holes in this still, but it's a start. Comments/additions anyone? On a lighter note, there's still some nice guys around. Yesterday evening (wednesday of the patch) around 1:00 am GMT I was running around BC lvling. For the first time I ran into ET, and started to kill it with some excitement (yeah, I know... lvl 27 and first ET....). After some hacking a guy came up, stood for a little while, then politely asked if I needed help. I said no, but thanks anyway, and went on hacking. He naturally hung around to see if I died before killing ET (I would have done the same), but didn't interfere. I killed ET and got a nice drop (though no special items). This guy then still patiently waited till I sorted out what I wanted to take, and even asked if he could get the left-overs. Shame on me, I can't remember your name. I must have been too excited about the ET.... Msg me in-game m8, you've been a real gent....

They sure to steal as it is on the ground and no one pick it up on time. But if u r faster then them grab all u can first. heheWalk towards the future for the best and not for the worst. |
