WINGE WINGE WINGEToo bllody right I will. I have played this game since launch - I have lived through lag, pk, lack of DM answers, **** quests, crap access to WT and ZT, ****ers, tossers, ****ers and gits - and the odd generous bastard who actually gives a ****. BUT now I've had enough - u see - Im a warrior - Ive got to lvl 28 - and can I find halfmoon - can I **** - so whats the point - why would I wanna pay some spotty little lvl 8 in town 2mill for a lousy ****ing book - since when did warriors learn their arts from books - If I cant gain new skills - why bother And if anyone suggest 'oh just wait - stop wingeing - it will get better with the next relaunch' - YOU ARE TALKING BOLLOCKS or have your head so far up a DM arse u r kissing his lips. I got 2 moths left to play - and I couldn't give a fuk LEGEND OF MIR is a great format - but the gameplay ****ing sucks and the response to problems sucks - and no-one seems to give a ****. I know what you're saying. I've been thinking similar things lately. The game seems to be more about posessing an item than about adventuring. If food becomes as rare as most of the items in the game, we'll all starve to death and quit. lol!! A good mate that quit MIR said to me not so long ago that the quest system sounds more like 'Leisure Suit Larry'. "Collect 25 of this and 10 of that. Now do go here and get me 5 more of these". That isn't a quest... that doesn't hold any adventure for me at all. (and yes I know about the MC) We ideally need a world to explore and new places to check out. Failing that, just double the size of all the dungeons/maps. Too many players have levelled up to the point where even after the September patch - it's crowded. Stand by any BC dungeon door for 10-20 minutes and you will think you're in Picadilly Circus! Just some thoughts at the moment...

Well I just gave everything away - 12.30am - pretty early 4 me.Gave away 800k (150 to a TAO for healing me - lol), 2 coral rings, 2 power axes and not much else to show for all my efforts - surprise surprise - no halfmoon Now Ive chilled a bit, its a pity the people running the show don't seem to understand anything about rolepaly - I had such high hopes for this game and it has been such a disapointment - just a total lack of depth, character building or adventure - there is only so much levelling up you can do - it does eventually get boring.
Strange - early on I read some comments from a guy who quit - and it was a similar complaint about levelling up getting monotonoues - and I thought 'never happen to me' - but it has - and it will eventually happen to you So - enjoy it while u can - but remember - there is only so many time people can say - wait until the next upgrade!!!! How many people play now - 1000+ and the lag is terrible It was good while it lasted - but hey - I got more gameplay out of Angband (If you don't know it - search the net) SLATFATF

It seems to me that in this game and any other Korean made MMORPG that the western players have no say so in the development of these games. Like the quest system, it sucks its boring and its monotonous. Maybe this is what Korean and asian gamers like but it is not what American and im assuming European gamers enjoy. Why dont we see more responses from the Game masters? Ill tell you why! They have no power as far as game development goes, their nothing more than moderators them selfs. All their doing is watching the European servers for Wemade over in Korea. And when something new happens its due to Korean gamers asking for changes. This forum is a load of crapp anything said here doesnt effect the game at all. It's just placed here to give us the illusion that we are being heard. So why dont the GM's answer? Because they are not in a position to say anything. When they do speak its because their bosses give them some bread crums to show us. And if you think their Korean bosses are listening and watching what we say.....Think again

Thanks JJRB - appreciate the supportI was pissed off - but its strange - I don't care now I've quit. Halfmoon was just the final straw in a long line of piss poor attempts to make a game - the makers clearly do not understand the concept of roleplaying and AD&D etc. It looked good, the idea was great - but the execution was ****e. Anyway - u are obviously enjoying the game much more than I did - good for you - people like you are what made it so much fun! Keep playing and paying

I think the point of Elanor's post is about HM but also to say that the game should offer some adventure as opposed to saving alot of cash to buy an item in town. I have halfmoon, shoulderdash and flamingsword but I have been very lucky. There are alot of people struggling to get them. The best items I've heard drop from ET (an example of a mob alot of people can solo) is a lvl26 weapon. I've killed about 30 of them and my best thing was a lvl20 item. Even if I did get a great axe or serpant sword... what am I going to do with it? Sell it for alot of cash. Maybe I have alot of cash already or maybe getting a couple of mil doesn't quite make the game adventurous in anyway. So all that's left is to give the drop away to a friend. The other day, I asked some friends for loans and I managed to raise 5 million gold for a judgement mace. Other peoples offers were more than most 'average' guilds could put together. Now I'm level 32, there is very little chance I'm going to get the items that I need... so then I started to think... why am I trying to get these items? In other RPGs, I am hooked on the suspense of what the next adventure will bring. I don't feel that for MIR (at the moment). Edited by - DavidBowie on 11/10/2001 02:14:13

Even tho i'm only lvl 23.. I've played since the start. There are alot of issues thats caused it, but i'm tired of telling ppl :)The thing i see here is after the 3rd month i was bored, the 4th month i said once i hit lvl 22 i would not lvl anymore (i just wanted the armour, tired of being called a n00b even tho i played longer than most of them) and around the 5th month i've completely stopped hunting. I've gotten 10% in the last 3 weeks. I've repaired my armour 5 times my sword 2 times and my rings/neck 1 time. Why you may ask? I mean i havent been hunting have i? Its because it seems to be more fun trying to see if i can kick arse in the shops in tao/wiz vs. war battles than it is to hunt.. I've been everywhere.. I've been to zt's kr. wt, wt's kr.. ww,all around sv, everywhere in mong, the caves the mines.. Its just nothing to explore as said anymore. We needed new lands a long time ago. They need to expand ASAP. People are getting tired of this ****.. I can rt into the woods, and 5 minutes later see 10 people run by.. i mean way way out in spots no one should be.. there are ppl! ---

Elanor i know just how you feel. I also thought the same but as my (i quit) post states why i left. Also the account hacking, hmmm something they said would be fixed and sorted before p2p and its now running amock and there getting away with it. (just thought i would mention it) something i failed to mention in the reasons why i quit, even though it never happened to me it could of.

My personal fix when I get bored with levelling my warrior (lvl 32 now, monotonous sums it up very nicely), is to switch over to Phoenix and play as my Wizard character (lvl 14, taming Omas now WOOT!).It's a nice break, and when my Wiz gets up to about level 22 or so and I get bored with levelling him, I'll start a Tao and go back to the fun chicken bashing thang that most of us go through in the early levels. Alternatively, I'm considering an 'Adopt a Newbie' scheme, whereby I loiter with intent to adopt in Border Town and help a lvl 1 character develop as quickly as possible. (Sounds ok, but when they stick to you thereafter like leeches and you have to pk them to get rid of them it ain't so much fun...). For my fourth character I'm considering another Wizard whose sole purpose is to T-bolt people offscreen and then run away. I know there's lots of them about already, but a bit of anonymous payback would be nice.

Yea this game sucks, I donno why I keep playing it. I guess I want to reach 37 and get level 2 summon shinsu,... but actually what for?!?The game would still be just as boring if I got level 2 summon shinsu, I have played solo throughout my time playing MIR. Somehow it is not even fun to group, hunting in the dungeons doesnt really offer you any real reward. I have basically not even found an expel ring yet... Im level 36 and I've not found 1 #"¤" damn expel ring. I've bought every single item I use. If my account got stolen I would quit for sure,...

I agree. I am a level 27 wiz and I still have my level 23-24 items. I thought that I will maybe start refining and at least in that way build up my stats. I will probably not get my next spells either . It is really mad that you level up and then you can't really play the game as that level, because you just can't afford it.A war friend of mine is also suffering. Level 29 and he suffers to kill the Elite of the quest, because he can't afford the high DC items. How can this make the game fun? It seems we should maybe just do the quests and not level up until an update actually comes out that will make the items for your level cheap again. The quests are boring, but it is all done for a reason I think. Take the meat quest. Low levels love it, because we drop all these meat that we don't want. Gold ore quest. You will really make alot of money from all the copper ore that you will mine for 3 months and you will be able to refine your weapon, because of the black ore that you will get in 3 months.

I have seen, what looks like, a excelent MMORPG which has been in development for 2 years and is due for release early 2002. I will most likly go to that when it does come out. As in mir i am now level 22 and i also have lost the will to level up as it is just repetition then when you feel up to it you move onto the next dungeon and repeat the process with different mobs to fight. That is not a RPG that is boring, and these 'Quests' are crap too 'Collect X number of Y and bring them here' 'go and see this bloke' who then says 'fetch me this' then you wait for hours to get in *caugh*Mystery cave*caugh* and its just more hunting crap with a little unimpressive twist. When I first started playing Mir it was great the hunting the leveling etc.. but now it takes absolutly ages and a fuking fortune to level up just to be able to wear a new ring which actually does nothing much at all. On the wonderful occasion of getting a spell/Skill that needs to level up you then spend just aslong getting that bastard to level up too, which surprise surprise also seems to do nothing extra. When you are low level people somtime regail you with stories of their great battles in the wooma/Zuma temple but when you do go its just boring as there is now nothing to kill, you spend more time walking about trying to find something to attack and when it does die it drops naff all and gives a miniscule amount of exp compared to what you need. Conquering Sabuk is a joke too.If you want to find out what conquering a town/city should be like look at Shadowbane, the MMORPG I will be moving to, taking over a town can take days. you get seige engines like catapults and ballistas you also need to setup a camp for your army. You can hire assasins to kill the leaders of the town. Compared to Mir it is huge. Mir has 3 characters: Warrior, Wizard and TAOISTS Shadow bane has; 7 races: Aelfborn, Dwarves, Elves, Half Giants ,Humans, Irekei and Shades 4 Base classes: Fighter, Healer, Mage, Rogue 19 pofessions: Barbarian, Crusader, Huntress, Ranger, Templar, Warlock, Warrior Channeler, Confessor, Druid, Prelate, Priest, Assassin, Bard, Fury, Wizard, Ranger, Scout, and Thief (Limited to what base class you choose) And then during the game you can start to learn a Disciplines 30 of which are listed on teh web site; Alchemist, Animator, Archer, Berserker ,Black Mask ,Blacksmith ,Blade Master ,Blade Weaver ,Blood Prophet ,Bounty Hunter ,Commander ,Dark Knight ,Duelist Forge Master ,Giant Killer ,Gladiator ,Huntsman ,Knight , Rat Catcher ,Rune Caster ,Sorcerer ,Storm Lord, Summoner,Sun Dancer ,Traveller, Undead Hunter ,Werebear (Shape Shifter), Wererat (Shape Shifter) ,Werewolf (Shape Shifter) ,Wyrmslayer and there are more hidden in in the game that need to be discovered. I stopped playing my lvl 30 war. Why u ask? Not cuz i cant find items like a dragon sword or shoulderdash, my equipment is good. But because lvling any further brings no reward whatsoever. Think about it: i spend 2 weeks (when im fast) lvling to 31, i get lvl 2 halfmoon then. After that i have to do 4!!! lvls to get something new: flaming sword and some new weapon. Uhm 4 lvls, that will take me 2 months at least if i want to maintain any contact with the real world. So alas, i think i wont bother =(So i have made a wiz character, she's lvl 22 wiz right now, and am enjoying the game again =), i wonder though how long that will last though......

U guyz with the questing for HalfMoon must now know how the EShock wizards felt back in the days.. I know it sux.U may say ppl are spending 1mil or so on HalfMoon - there is no comparison, but when mobs are dropping up to 10k a time - then the inflation kinda works out. I would love to see halfmoon selling for 1 million, lets try closer to 2 million please.I am a level 29 warriors and i have spents the last 4 levels killing Ghouls, Evil Tongs, Wooma Guardians and Woomataruses (as i am quite sure enuff people will have seen me in WT KR), trying to get halfmoon. The best thing any of these have ever dropped for me was a sodding purifier sword (i mean i flamming rat has dropped me a puri). I can't kill Bone Elite in the meat quest coz i cant find a great axe, and i certainly dont have the cash for a dragon sword. In the last 4 days i have helped in killing Zumataurus 3 times and the best thing i have seen it drop was 1 bene oil (ffs it's such a waste of time, it's hard as hell to get to ZT KR now and it's still dropping CRAP!!!!!!) Before the patch was released I was able to make a decent amount of money in WT KR, helping kill the thing and then sharing the horn money with 6-8 people (i could make anything from 100k-250k in one trip), now the horn drops 1 in 20 times...WTF, how are we supposed to afford to buy overpriced items when u cant make any money. Since the patch my gold has dropped from 2 million to 600k, with no nice items to show for it. The game has become VERY annoying... when some jammy lvl 18 wiz had killed Wooma Guardian and gets halfmoon and then demands 2 million for the flaming book. All warrior items are to rare for the amount of warriors in the game, something needs to be done about this, coz i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one who is starting to get seriously pissed with the game. Maybe there should be something added to the programming that see's what lvl you are and drops items accordingly. At least this way it could prevent a lot of swearing when a Wooma Guardian you have just solo'd when it has 3 of it's mates about it (which gets very dicey if you dont have a load of sun pots in your bag) suddenly drops you a poisioning skill book and a scimitar...ARRRRGH!!!! Wot a complete waste of HP that was, and before you say it... the experience gained from it doesn't even come close to the amount of pots just wasted. You could get +10 times more experience from killing tongs and centis for the same amount of pots used... I think my next trip will be back to ST 7f, where i managed to get to last night with Ironballs. But this time i think we'd better take an army with us as we saw about +10 white evil boars (fingers crossed they drop nice items). Well thats my rant for the evening, cya in Mir. --< Eazy - Level 29 Warrior >-- --< HeavensGuardians - Elite Hunter >--

FFSA DM or moderator (or whatever) has actually responded to 1 of my threads - by taking the word ****ING out of the title and my text. After 3/4 months of playing its nice to get acknowledged. Pity u never listen to us telling you that this game sucks and needs improving - the last communication of news (apart from rebooting) was 17 Oct - almost 1 month ago - god u guys must be busy working such a major upgrade for December 2002 - pity ill miss it!! (did u notice the freudian misktake!!) FYI - this bitch only nicked 2 items ever in the game - a hardglove years ago, and more recently swithched a coral ring drop so I got a 5dur and replaced it with a 3dur - lol. Have just uninstalled LOM - and can you believe it - that ****ed up too. Well - hope u r all still enjoy playing (lvl up, lvl up, lvl up, WTF)- and although I was warned I might get them - no withdrawl symptoms what so ever. EL

I was actually thinking of Baldurs Gate2 when I said that which I know is not a MMORPG (I only played online with a few people before) but I have friends in other MMORPG's that have more adventure than this. Let's be clear about something... there is little adventure in this game and it is not difficult to create adventure in a game!
