Welcome to the third issue of the Bichon Chronicles, the official newsletter of Legend of Mir: The Three Heroes. With this issue we bring you some of the latest news and some information about the future of Legend of Mir. The main subject of this newsletter are the results of the first feedback poll we have run in the past few weeks, we thought that you might have been interested in it and we're going to share with you all the information we've gathered. Have a pleasant reading and see you all again on the next issue of the Bichon Chronicles!
NEWS
MAINTENANCE CHANGES: Regardless of the move to the new hardware, we have decided to stick with the double weekly maintenance as it allows us to perform some regular operations that we can run only when the game is not online. The maintenance days will remain Tuesday and Friday, but the maintenance itself will start earlier as from tomorrow the new starting time will be set at 9:30AM CET (8:30AM GMT). The downtime will last as usual roughly 30 minutes, we will inform you every time the downtime length should change significatively.
NEW HARDWARE:
As you probably know, during the past week we have moved the whole Legend of Mir project to new hardware hosted on NTT/Verio. If you are still experiencing any problem connecting to the game and using the autopatch, you can get an auto-installing patch at this address: http://www.livewiregames.net/mir2migrationpatch.exe . Please also remember to update any firewall or antivirus program as you'll need to grant access to the new mir.exe file.
ISSUES WITH BT BROADBAND:
In the past few days most of the users using BT Broadband connections experienced a few hours of daily lag. It appears that a temporary problem is affecting the peering circuit between BT and Verio in London . We're in constant contact with our provider trying to understand what could be done on our side to solve this issue, at the same time BT has been informed through several users complaints. Things have been getting better, but the problem appears to be still present. Verio and BT are currently working together trying to fix the problem as soon as possible. Please watch the news section of the website for more news as soon as we should receive them.
NEXT GAME PATCH:
Concurrent and time consuming tasks have kept both us at Game Network and the developers at Wemade quite busy in the past 2 months and this is the main and only reason for which you don't have yet any information about the next patch for Legend of Mir. Now that we have successfully migrated the game to the new hardware we should be ready to move on, so we will try to set up a new update schedule as soon as possible with the developers. News about this will be posted immediately when available.
FEEDBACK POLL
Below you can find the results of the feedback poll we've started back in December and we would like to thank all the players that took the time to answer our questions and left their personal comments. We will not comment every single result as we believe that the numbers really speak for themselves, but we would like to say that we appreciate the fact that you generally have a very good consideration of all the work done so far and of all the efforts put into this project since August 2004 (we averaged 83,5% of positive replies to each question). We promise that our commitment will not change and that we will continue to work hard to pursue the best future possible for this great game.
